<lom:langstring xml:lang="en">The following case study shows on the basis of the Stadtteilzentrum Auwiesen in Linz how community work is done. The data has been collected through expert interviews (Bogner 2014) and has thereafter been encoded openly and evaluated according to the method by Strauss and Corbin (1996).
The results show the relevance of processes of orientation in social spaces and of energetic actions. Public spaces are provided and encounters are enabled. Networking with inhabitants, associations and institutions is a basis for community work, which is experienced as fine and positive Social Work. Community workers withdraw as experts and engage in the living environment of people. “Failure” is seen as an integral component of community work.</lom:langstring>
