Nicht nur von Seite der BetreuerInnen, sondern auch von den Betroffenen wird viel darüber reflektiert. Nicht immer sind deren Gedanken und Aktionen im Sinne von Selbstbestimmung. Konflikte sind folglich keine Seltenheit. Zusätzlich spielen Einschränkungen durch Beeinträchtigung, Resignation oder Selbsteinschränkung eine Rolle. Unterstützende BetreuerInnen müssen auch Regeln und Pflichten mit den BewohnerInnen erarbeiten, welche von diesen teilweise als Einschränkung ihrer Selbstbestimmung gesehen werden. Erfolgreiche Umsetzung von Zielprozessen und Selbstbestimmung in Einrichtungen des betreuten Wohnens ist ein Produkt der Zusammenarbeit von Einrichtung, BetreuerInnen und Betroffenen auf Basis von Standards und deren Qualitätskontrolle.
