Erwachsenenschutzgesetzes in der Psychiatrie de Fachhochschule St. Pölten, Bachelorstudiengang Soziale Arbeit, Bachelorarbeit 2020 Menschen, welche in psychiatrischen Spitälern untergebracht sind, wird aufgrund ihrer oftmals fehlenden Entscheidungsfähigkeit eine Erwachsenenvertretung zugewiesen. In nachfolgender Arbeit wird untersucht, inwiefern die Anregung von Erwachsenenvertreter*innen sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit diesen unter den Bestimmungen des 2. Erwachsenenschutzgesetzes funktioniert und inwiefern diese zur Förderung der Selbstbestimmung von Patient*innen beiträgt. Die Daten wurden anhand des narrativen Interviews nach Schütze (1983) sowie des episodischen Interviews nach Flick (2011) gesammelt. Zur Auswertung der Daten diente die Methode des Offenen Kodierens nach Strauss / Corbin (1996). In den Ergebnissen der Forschung stellt sich unter anderem heraus, dass insbesondere die finanzielle Selbstbestimmung von Patient*innen psychiatrischer Spitäler unzureichend gegeben ist. People, who are accommodated in a psychiatric hospital are often assigned to a guardian due to the lack of a decision-making ability. Especially under the former law of guardianship of adults, decisions were often made without the involvement of the patient`s consent. The aim of the following thesis is to examine the new adult protection law according to the suggestion of a guardianship and the further collaboration with guardians in terms of the self-determination and autonomy of patients in psychiatric hospitals. Data was collected using the narrative interview method by Schütze (1983) as well as the episodic interview method by Flick (2011). The collected data was analysed by using the open coding method by Strauss / Corbin (1996).
