University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten Das Biopsychosoziale Modell in der österreichischen Primärversorgung The goal of this work is to compare the understanding of health of the core professions working in Austrian Primary Health Care centers with that of Social Workers. In order to conduct this comparison, empiric guided interviews were held with one representative from each core profession. These interviews were analyzed with the grounded theory method and placed in relation to the literature reviewed. In the literature section, I describe the bio-psycho-social theory of Josef W. Egger and focus on the ‘social’ aspect of the theory. The findings disprove some pre-assumptions of mine, but support others. This work should outline the necessity of including Social Workers as Health Care Professionals within the Primary Health Care system. Egger mit besonderem Fokus auf dem ‚Sozialen‘ Teil des Modells. Die Ergebnisse widerlegen einige der Vorannahmen, stützen andere jedoch.
